The Remi saga began in 1960 when Shri Chiranjilal Saraf started manufacturing fractional H.P. motors & laboratory stirrers under the name of Rajendra Electric Motor Industries, abbreviated to form the present days REMI GROUP. It soon expanded to a multi-product group of companies manufacturing TEFC Squirrel Cage Motors, Helical Geared Motors, Car Fans, Industrial Liquid Mixers/Stirrers, Alloy Steel Bright Bars, Welded Seamless Stainless Steel Tubes/Pipes and Solid Control Systems.

After acquiring technical knowhow through seven technical collaborations iwth industrial leaders in US, Japan and Germany, Remi decided that steel and tubular products would be its thrust areas for development.Thus arose the unique concept of an Integrated Plant manufacturing steels & seamless pipes under one roof. Remi Metals Gujarat Limited, a Rs 360 Crore flagship company is the groups most ambitious project so far. RMGL is an Integrated Steel (capacity 140,000 TPA) & Seamless Pipe Plant (capacity 50,000 TPA) set up in Jhagadia near Bharuch in Gujarat.

Renowned for its advanced technology, key process equipments have been designed by Mannesman Demag & Schloeman (Germany), world leaders in steel making and & seamless technology, alongwith their Indian counterparts Indomag Steel Technology.

The adoption of most modern technology and processs equipments have made it a formidable giant capable of producing steel and seamless pipes conforming to rigorous international quality specifications.
